Warranty
Our iGadget Warranty for Phone Parts
Every phone part you buy from iGadget comes with a warranty, and yes, that includes parts you install yourself. Our phone parts warranty covers two tiers: a 6-month warranty on high-quality aftermarket parts and a 12-month warranty on premium parts.
We stand by our high-quality suppliers and excellent, qualified technicians, so we are proud to provide you with the best warranties in the industry. From what’s covered to what’s not, and how to claim if something goes wrong, here’s everything you need to know about the iGadget warranty.
We Offer Two Phone Part Warranty Tiers
Not all phone parts are built the same, and our warranty reflects that. At iGadget, every product is clearly labelled with its warranty tier so you know what you're getting before you add it to your cart.
The 6-Month Warranty – High-Quality Parts
Our high-quality range covers aftermarket and third-party parts. These are solid, reliable components that get the job done, which is ideal if you're repairing an older device or want to keep costs down.
Every high-quality part carries a 6-month warranty from your purchase date unless otherwise specified.
What does this warranty cover?
The iGadget 6-Month Warranty only applies where a defect has arisen, wholly or substantially, as a result of faulty manufacture, parts or workmanship (from iGadget technicians) during the Warranty Period.
12-Month Warranty – Premium Parts & Repairs
Our premium parts are the best quality phone parts we stock. These higher-grade components are built to perform closer to the manufacturer's spec and carry a full 12-month warranty from the date of purchase, unless otherwise specified. That same 12-month coverage applies to any repair carried out by our iGadget technicians (unless stated otherwise).
To put that in perspective, many repair shops only offer a 3 or 4-month warranty on phone parts and labour. With iGadget's premium range, you're getting three times that coverage, shipped straight from our NZ warehouse.
What does this warranty cover?
The iGadget 12-Month Warranty only applies where a defect has arisen, wholly or substantially, as a result of faulty manufacture, parts or workmanship (from iGadget technicians) during the Warranty Period.
Both tiers are available on interest-free payment plans through Afterpay and Zip Pay, so you can get the best quality phone parts for your repair now and spread the cost over time.
Yes, Your DIY Installation is Covered
The big question from DIY enthusiasts is always, “Do your warranties include parts that I install myself?” Yes, they do, as long as you have not damaged them during the install! We want to encourage and equip people to do their own repairs.
We built our warranty this way on purpose because we believe fixing your own device shouldn't mean flying blind without a safety net. Whether you need a Samsung screen replacement, are looking for iPhone parts online, or are replacing a charging port on your iPad, the iGadget warranty covers you as long as the part itself is faulty and the damage didn't occur during installation.
There's one thing you need to do before you start, and it'll save you a lot of headache if something does go wrong. Test your part before you install it. Plug it in, check it works, and confirm there are no out-of-box faults. Once you've peeled back adhesives and removed protective covers, a pre-existing fault is much harder for us to assess and won't be covered under warranty. Two minutes of testing upfront protects both your repair and your coverage.
Battery Warranty
Batteries work a little differently from other phone parts. All lithium-ion batteries degrade over time; that's just chemistry, not a defect. Because of this, batteries are classified as consumable products, which affects how the warranty works. The good news is that all iGadget batteries are premium products, so they come with a full 12-month phone parts warranty
But there are two things that are specific to batteries that you need to know:
-
Install it straight away: Lithium-ion batteries have a shelf life. If you order one and leave it sitting in a drawer for months before fitting it, it can degrade past its usable threshold before it's ever been used in a device. That kind of deterioration isn't a manufacturing fault, and it won't be covered under warranty. Buy your battery when you're ready to use it, not weeks beforehand.
-
The 80% capacity guarantee: Our 12-month battery warranty guarantees your replacement battery will hold 80% or more of its original rated capacity for the full warranty period. If it drops below that threshold within the 12 months and there's no physical damage or mishandling involved, we'll send you a replacement. If a replacement isn't available, you'll get a full refund.
One thing that's never covered: batteries that have been pierced, bent, or physically damaged during installation. Take your time fitting it, follow the guide, and don't force anything.
What’s Not Covered
It is important that you test new parts prior to installing them to ensure there are no manufacturer's defects. Parts that have an out-of-box fault, but have been fully installed and have had plastic covers and adhesives removed, are not covered under warranty
Every warranty has limits, and we'd rather be upfront about ours than have you find out at the worst possible moment. Our 6-month and 12-month iGadget Warranties do not apply where damage is caused by the installer (other than iGadget technicians), or other factors, including, without limitation:
(a) Normal wear and tear;
(b) Damage due to misuse or force damage
(c) Incorrect installation or damage through mishandling;
(d) Products that have come in contact with liquid;
(e) Excessive wear and tear, mishandling, accident or failure to follow operating instructions;
(f) Battery leakage or infiltration of foreign particles;
(g) Batteries that have been pierced, bent or damaged in any way from installation or other means.
(h) Issues arising from the delayed installation of a lithium-ion battery, which pushes it past its shelf life;
(i) Use of the Product with unsuitable accessories;
(j) Shipment or other transit. iGadget will not be responsible for damage or loss in transit. Our liability ends once the item has left our premises and tracking details have been provided to the customer. The courier services that iGadget uses include loss-in-transit and damage insurance. If the product is in their hands, you must claim your warranty through the shipping company.
(k) Apple iOS or Android Software updates causing hardware faults, including but not limited to decreased battery life, system errors or bricked devices due to Jailbreak or alike, are not covered under warranty. It is recommended to back up your device before any software update, in the unlikely event of an irrecoverable error, to avoid data loss.
(l) Warranty stickers or identifying stamps positioned on the product have been removed or tampered with;
(m) The Product has been subject to: abnormal use, abnormal condition, improper storage, exposure to moisture or dampness, exposure to excessive temperature or other such environmental conditions, unauthorised modifications, unauthorised connections, unauthorised repair including but not limited to use of unauthorised spare parts in repairs, misuse, neglect, abuse, accident, alteration, improper installation, Acts of God, spill of foods or liquids, maladjustment of customer controls or other acts which are beyond the reasonable control of iGadget Limited, including deficiencies in consumable parts such as fuses and breakage or damage to antennas, unless caused directly by defects in materials or workmanship, and normal wear and tear of the Product which can relate to items being mishandled or excessive force used when using the touch screen or buttons on the device.
Changed Your Mind? Our 14-Day Returns Policy
Ordered the wrong part? Had a change of plans? No stress. If you've had second thoughts about a purchase, you've got 14 days from the date of purchase to return it to us.
A few things to keep in mind before you lodge a return:
-
Where possible, all refunds will be returned to the original payment method; otherwise, an alternative refund method will be offered.
-
If you are returning an item that included a sale offer or a free item of another product, that product must be returned as well.
-
Items must be in original sale condition (original labels, original packaging or otherwise unused with original tags/adhesives attached).
-
You may be asked to provide personal details for returns or exchanges. These details will be used for the purpose of processing the return.
-
The buyer is required to pay for return shipping to send the item back to iGadget.
-
Shipping costs in the original order will not be refunded. If the original order included free shipping and refunding the product lowers your order below the free shipping threshold, the shipping cost will be deducted from the refund.
That's it. No hoops, no lengthy disputes. If the item is unused and in its original condition, we'll process your return promptly and get your refund sorted as quickly as we can.
If the item has been installed or the packaging has been opened and used, it falls outside the change-of-mind window. But if there's a fault with the part, that's a phone parts warranty claim, not a return, and you'd follow the process in the next section.
How to Make a Warranty Claim with iGadget
If there seems to be a hardware-related problem with your device or part within the warranty period, here’s exactly what to do.
Step 1: Contact Us First
Before you do anything else, like take the device to another repairer or attempt a fix yourself, get in touch with us. This is the most important step. Taking a part to a third-party repairer without contacting us first automatically voids the warranty, and we won't be able to reimburse any costs that come from that. When in doubt, call us.
Step 2: Have Your Proof of Purchase Ready
We'll need your original receipt or order confirmation to validate the claim. If you can't locate it, check your email for your iGadget order confirmation.
Step 3: Send the Part Back If Needed
If we need to assess the part in person, we'll arrange for it to be returned to us. If you're within the first 14 days of purchase, we'll cover the cost of return shipping. After that initial two-week window, return shipping is on you.
Step 4: We’ll Assess and Resolve It within 5 Business Days
Once we've received and validated the fault, we'll either repair the item or send a replacement. However, if you're within your first 14 days and a replacement can't be sourced, we will issue a full refund. After that 14-day mark, refunds aren't available, but we'll always work to get you a functioning part.
The whole process is straightforward when the fault is genuine. We stock the best-quality phone parts we can source, precisely because we'd rather you never need to make a claim in the first place. But when you do, we're not looking for reasons to knock it back. We want you to have a working part.
Frequently Asked Questions
Are Baseus accessories covered under the iGadget warranty?
Yes. All Baseus products carry a 12-month warranty covering manufacturing defects. Physical damage isn't covered, but if a Baseus cable, charger, or accessory fails due to a product defect within that 12-month window, we'll take care of it.
Will a software update void my warranty?
Not the warranty itself, but faults caused directly by an iOS or Android update (things like sudden battery drain, system errors, or a bricked device after a jailbreak) aren't covered under the parts warranty. These are software-side issues, not part defects. Our advice: always back up your device before any software update, just in case something goes sideways.
Can I use Afterpay or Zip Pay and still get the full warranty?
Absolutely. How you pay has no bearing on your iGadget warranty coverage. Whether you pay upfront or spread it across instalments with Afterpay or Zip Pay, you get the exact same warranty terms. Same parts, same coverage, same claim process.
What if iGadget can't source a replacement for my faulty part?
If your claim is validated within the first 14 days of purchase and we can't find a like-for-like replacement, we'll issue a full refund. After that 14-day window, if a repair isn't possible and no replacement is available, we'll work with you to find the best resolution we can.
